Projects

  • Assignment: C# Console App - WoopDeeZoo
  • Duration: 1 week
  • Group size: 2
  • Used Technologies: MS Visual Studio 2019
  • Description: Our first real group application. An implementation of basic CRUD functionality in a C# console project. Our group decided to make an application that manages the animals in a Zoo. Since we hadn't learned about databases at this point we saved all our data to a local .txt file.

  • Assignment: C# Windows forms App - Coffee Shop
  • Duration: 1 week
  • Group size: 3
  • Used Technologies: MS Visual Studio 2019
  • Description: Our first real application with a GUI. We built a coffee shop where we could select products from a dynamically generated tile-like list and add them to a shoppingcart. All orders that were placed were recorded in a local text file.

  • Assignment: C# WPF forms App - Game of Goose/Horse
  • Duration: 1 week
  • Group size: 2
  • Used Technologies: MS Visual Studio 2019
  • Description: A more advanced GUI based project. As this was the first time we made anything remotely gamelike it was quite the challenge. The front-end especially since WPF uses XAML to build its front-end, rather than the drag-and-drop approach we used in Winforms. We later decided to make the theme more fantasylike and changed the name to Game of Horse to better fit the new visual style. Every finished game was recorded in a local text file with the winner and the amount of moves it took.

  • Assignment: HTML/CSS/JS (& Bootstrap) - Website digital Jobday
  • Duration: 1 week
  • Group size: 4 (& 1)
  • Used Technologies: Visual Studio Code, Github Pages
  • Description: This assignment had two components. On the one hand we had to make a website as a group that could be used to present ourselves and this course for a digital jobday (screenshots below and link in the main navigation above). On the other we had to make a personal website, individually, that could be linked to from the group one and that could serve as a personal online portfolio (you're looking at it right now!).

  • Assignment: C# Xamarin Forms App - Blooso
  • Duration: 1 week
  • Group size: 3
  • Used Technologies: MS Visual Studio 2019, Xamarin + Entity Framework (SQLite), MVVM design pattern
  • Description: Our second experience working with a XAML based frontend, only this time in the Xamarin framework to develop for mobile as well. The original asignment was another webstore but we tried to go in a slightly different direction. Our idea was to develop a social connection app for people looking for a sport buddy. Based on a few parameters it would provide you with a list of potential matches that you could review and/or add to your personal friendlist.

Random stuff

Below a few of my favourite hobbies and passtimes.

Video Games

I've been playing videogames for as long as I can remember. While I mostly enjoy multiplayer games I can definitely appreciate a solid singleplayer experience.

Tabletop Games

Just like videogames, tabletops can be a lot of fun. It really combines the best of both worlds between games and social activities, be it short and simple partygames or hours long strategic sessions.

Photography

Learned some photography at school and I've loved doing it since. While I mostly prefer taking pictures of nature I've tried my hand at different types of photography so I've done a little bit of everything.
